Not intuitive at all

Can’t understand why you can’t edit dosages and temperatures and add a history for last 24-48hrs. Also the app recorded wrong date for one entry which I couldn’t edit, and the spinning thing is rubbish, having to spin through every section before you get the one you want. I would rather have separate buttons so can click instantly. Needs massive improvement. Think I’ll go back to notepad. Such a shame.

Not intuitive at all

Useless

Told me my 14 month old was 2 months old! Rendered the app useless as all info would be off. What’s the point? Come on Calpol! I’m not the only one to spot this problem. Either fix it or remove it.

Poorly thought out

You can’t dose 2 meds at the same time. Can’t add other meds. Confusing messages about vaccinations that happened years ago. No obviously label to say which child’s profile you’re on. Needs a lot of improvement before its useful.

Does the job

The dosage diary should really show the last dose at the top. I need to know about April dose in November. Other then that it works to track times and doses of calpol.

Ok but could be better

Overall I like the app, but there are things that could be improved. You can’t record the times for both calpol and calprofen during the same time period, even though they can both be given at the same time and you can’t adjust the time when recording the temperature so if you can’t get on to record it when first taken you are unable to back track it. It would also be handy if you could input other medications such as antibiotics to keep a record of when they are given

Good app. Would like Apple Watch option

App works well and is great for keeping track of poorly kids temperatures and doses. Would be really useful to have and Apple Watch function so I can quickly see when the last dose was given.

Glitches after songs

I love the lullaby feature as it helps my baby get to sleep even when she's not teething. BUT it keeps glitching after only 3 lullabys.

Great app

Downloaded a while ago but thankfully only had to use recently. Brilliant for tracking temperature of son when he had a fever and also of dosage and time of calpol. Customisable alerts so you know when to give next dose of calpol, if needed. Previous comments mention you can't input time of doses or temp readings but I have been able to do it so assume app has since been updated.

App can't count!

Currently have a poorly child so thought this would be good to track medicine etc - my Child is 4, put in DOB and the app 'calculated' him to be 'around 2 months'..!!! Don't think I'd trust it now!

Ok App

Like idea behind app, but would be better if could edit dosage, add additional medicines within a given dosage as some medicines can be given together/within intervals of a set period. For example I've been administrating Calpol and Ibrufen within two hour intervals but can only add one product as I've been told I already added a dose and therefore can't keep track of when I gave the 2nd med.

Good App

This is a great app to help you keep track of medication you have given and temperature. Can be used for more than one child. My only issue is that you can't select the time you record a temperature, like you can for medication. This would be very helpful as when you have a sick crying baby it's difficult enough to take the temperature, give medication and then settle them, so you it can be an hour later that you are recording the reading.

Not very user friendly

Not very user friendly, use your phone calendar to note times of temps & doses. You have to turn a wheel to find & select your option. When inputting a temperature reading, you have to scroll through a list rather than type it in, which isn't easy when you have a wriggling baby! And, you can't record a dose of baby ibuprofen within 4 hours of a paracetamol dose!!!!

Really buggy

Calpol have managed to f up the dosage part of the app so much it's dangerous if you try to rely on it. Despite the top review here being a year old that explains the exact problem, have they updated the app? Nope. AVOID THIS APP

Very useful

Wonderful app keeps track of dosage and temperature give to your child so no need to keep making a note on paper. Symptom checker as well. Love it

Great idea but

Great idea but still full of bugs. You can't back date temperature and can't dose more than one drug at a time for eg you can't dose ibuprofen if you have dosed paracetamol in the last four hours.

Great Idea But Really Buggy

This is a fantastic app for keeping track of medicines administered, unfortunately if your late in setting the dosage time the countdown will alway start at 3hrs 59mins (eg: if dosage is a minimum of 4hrs). For example I gave my daughter her dosage at 6:45 but didn't get round to entering the details until 8:00. But the app still thinks I have 3hrs 59mins left until the next dose should be given. Not really a good countdown timer. So make sure you set it straight away. Also, you can overlap paracetamol (minimum of 4hrs) and ibuprofen (minimum of 6hrs) if necessary as its a different drug, but with the app it doesn't allow you to do this. Haven't used the app for both my children at the same time so can't comment on this yet. Would be great once these bugs have been sorted out.

Improvements cld make an essential tool for all parents

Allow to alternate between ibroprofen and calpol as can be taken hand in hand. Reminder for when both are next due. This is where tired parents forget. Sync with partner phone for round clock care. Temp- let u just type number. Quicker. Add notes for extra- nasal sprays, inhalation etc. A little tweaking and is be recommending to everyone! Allow track of temp.

Invaluable app for busy people with little ones. I in particular find the medication timer useful.

Immunisation calendar doesn't work

Really useful app but for some reason once I put in my immunisation appointments they do not appear in my calendar and you cannot view them in the app either

Amazing app!!

This app is amazing its got loads on it from songs you can sing to baby to where the nearest place is to buy calpol and to make it even better you can record what time and what you gave then. A + from me

Such a useful little app.

Useful, but still buggy

This is a very useful little app, & a great idea, but at the moment none of the lullabies in the soothers section actually play. Once this is fixed it would be get more stats.

Doing good!

But can always improve. Maybeore soothing tunes? Advice page? My daughter had a temperature of 40.4 beginning of the week and I just didn't no what to do with her! I thought a cool flannel would help but I was told by doctor not to wipe her down with it cause body will go to shock and get hotter so a page with advise on wat to do depending on temperature would be helpfull. Maybe a little game on there to try and detracted toddlers from the pain? Other all though I'm happy about it and recommended it too all the mums I know! Great help for a busy and tired mum or dad! :D

Lullabies are great but could definitely be much more user friendly

Have mostly used this app for the soother feature to play lullabies to my little one when she's been unsettled but find it annoying that you have to press play each time you want to play one of the four songs. Would be great if you could play individual ones on a loop or even better all four on a loop. It also stops playing when you close the app so don't know if this could also be updated to still play when you want to come out of the app? Otherwise great little app.

Looks useful

A great idea but definitive room for improvement. When logging doses I would like to see them together (as sometimes need to give both alternatively) and as a list would be more useful stating the actual times given.

Can't give ibuprofen and paracetamol together (or anything more than one product) Easy to delete doses given. Completely unwieldy if you were to use this in anger when you have a poorly child. Needs a serious amount of work

Do you all not do you research and understand how harmful calpol is. Fevers are your body working through the illness, don't stop this by giving calpol.

Comments

Some people on the reviews board saying you can't give para and ibro at the same time haven't been to see a doctor recently. You can give both. Calpol even have a product containing small amounts of both. The app could use more work and maybe a little insight to what you is ok to give.

Amazing app

What an amazing app for parents, I usually write these down an misplace them but this is just perfect. And for free, how could ANYONE complain?!

Good way to keep track of things

Really handy especially to keep track of times and doses...while I agree the body needs fever to fight illness little people who get very hot can have convulsions so calpol is sometimes very necessary

Basic & Frustrating

This app is a great idea but is just too basic. There's no advice re correct dose of their products & no alert if you were to enter details of a subsequent dose too soon after the previous. There is no way of inputting that baby has had a specific immunisation, it seems to work on an inbuilt clock rather than individual data; yes, immunisation alerts can be turned off but there's no way of personalising this area. I deleted this app

Febrile Seizures must have!

We have a boy who suffers from febrile seizures and this app helps keeps me sane during the stress of a fever. When you're monitoring a child 24/7 you forget what medicine did you give when etc etc. I couldn't recommend it highly enough for parents who have a child who suffers from febrile seizures. The only improvements I'd suggest though (and I really hope you're listening McNeil!) is to store more than 3 months of history because we're trying to understand the pattern of seizures and having longtitudinal data will help with that. Also to show what medicine was used in the summaries because we alternate paracetamol / ibuprofen.

Room for improvement!

I love this app and use it alot, since my son has turned 6months it has become a pain. I CAN dose his 5ml but as he only just turned 6 months I would rather wait until he's slightly older but I cannot change it on the app. I select my 2.5ml dosage but it still logs it as 5ml. The other thing that annoys me since the beginning, is immunisations. It reminds me all the time. He was delayed in having his first lot, but now has had them all until he's 1 year old but the app reminds me as he has had none! Definitely room for some improvements!

When I can get it to work, this app is great. Def got bugs though as sometimes it will allow me to log both the administration of calpol and calprofen, but sometimes it will only allow me to track the dosage of one of their products (and the whole point of the app in my opinion is to help keep track, especially when multidosing, so when you can't enter both it is v frustrating) Please sort out the bugs!

Needs more work

The app won't let you log alternative doses of ibropufen and paracetamol! It tells you that you can't mix them!!!! Also the temp history graph is back to front so it looks as though temp is increasing when it's decreasing and vice versa. Ok if you only use one product and your child's temp only goes in the one direction.

Used to work

Since an update for the rotavirus vaccine (i presume) it now won't log that you've made the appointment. The buttons for logging immunisations seem to have the coding in rather than what the button is for. It used to work nicely but now it's just buggy!

I downloaded the app as my son has had a run of illness and I thought tracking the medicine would be helpful. The GP has advised that we alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen but the app will only let me log one medicine and not both, rendering it useless for my needs. I haven't bothered checking out the other features and will be deleting it and keeping a note on my phone of doses instead.

App not ready!

App not finished - more work and updates required before usable. Good idea in principle. But...Features don't work and programming code displayed instead of what user should see. Sort it out, Calpol!

This is a must have

Every mum or dad should have this apps,I'm always forgetting the last time that I gave my sons their meds to the point that I have to write it down otherwise I could over dose them,with this apps I don't need to worry about that now I entered their details onto this apps and it sends me a reminder to let me know when I have to give my sons their next dose it also records the last temperature taken and the amount of meds given to you child,this is a must have.

Med tracker but needs an additional feature.

Great app. It is such great help but it would be perfect if it had the option to add other medicine such as antibiotics. Most times when a child has a temp/fever they have an infection. If you could add another feature that would be excellent.

Iphone 5c user!! Excellent

Brilliant app especially for when my both babies poorly don't get mixed up could do with antibiotic and drop reminder but is brilliant already!!!

Good idea

This is a good idea app. Full of potential. Sound not working, Find my nearest hospital comes back with my local doctors and local baby scanning unit. Not quite a hospital. I like the app's ideas they just need to be useable.

Needs work

I found this app and thought great I don't have to have a scrap of paper to record temp and medicine times given! You can only have 1 medicine record active at a time! What about when you alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen? And want to give cough medicine too? On the plus you can set a reminder to give the next dose. This app could be fantastic and not just ok!

Can't get app to work! Won't let me put in child's actual date of birth! Says it needs an update in setting click here! When click nothing happens! Think it would be a great app if it actually worked

Good but could be better

I like this app as I'm always forgetting what time I've given my kids medicine. However, the 2 problems I've faced are that you can't seem to add more than one medicine per child. That's rubbish. Also when putting in the dosage, it does not give the option for 2.5ml increments, so the app wants you to under or over dose your child.

Feel this app could be improved if u were able to have more than 1 medication at a time!!! Low stars because of this but if it was improved I would give it 5 stars!!

Could be great, but...

It's a great app that reminds you of temp and dosage, however you can only add one medicine at a time!

Good but not great

After a hospital admission I wanted an app to keep a track on temps, resp rate, hr and drugs. This app allows the temp to be recorded but not other obs. My biggest annoyance is it won't let me record paracetamol and ibuprofen at the same time.

No editing facility

No ability to edit history, or add readings for temperature from earlier. Deleted, looking for better.

Could be better

If you are using this app for 1 child who is not really really ill it's fine. It gets a bit more difficult if you have 2 really unwell children and haven't had any sleep. 1. It's really difficult to work out which child the data you are looking at is for. The little icons at the top of the screen have nothing to differentiate them. 2. The app doesn't let you alternate calpol and ibuprofen. I'm sure it did when it was first released but not anymore. 3. I haven't managed to work out how to clear the irritating immunisation reminders? It could be a really good app if the wrinkles were ironed out because when you've had no sleep for days it's impossible to remember which child had which drug at what time!

Needs to be so much simpler

Great idea but: 1. The app has a stupid spinning wheel to select the function. a list of buttons would be better 2. You can't edit values. This isn't a legal record in a hospital - if I want to change it let me! 3. You can't store historical temperatures - if you forget to store it you've lost it 4. You have to select temperatures from a list. It's so much harder than just typing the numbers. 5. You can't log other useful info like if the child vomited or ate or drank 6. Would be great to be able to sync with my partners iphone
