PERFECT
As a new diabetic I needed something to help me track what I was eating and track my test results. This app was suggested by my diabetic nurse. It's a bit tricky to start with but don't get frustrated and give up. Once you figure out how to navigate the interface and add your favorite foods you'll not put this app down. I can't believe it's FREE.

Bug fixes
When you go to your custom foods it closes app every time. I notified them and the told me to use the online web site. Most restaurants don't have wifi here

App crashes when trying to add a custom item.
App crashes when trying to put a custom item on my plate. It also crashes when I try to edit a custom item. Unable to use the custom item feature. At this point, I find the app useless. Most of the items I eat have a custom item.

Broasted Chicken
Go meals is a great tool for diabetics and any one else who is on a diet. I know it's hard to define foods for each state, but other states must have broasted chicken in their restraunts & grocery stores! For me & my husband that is the hardest food to carb! Thank you Mrs. Leah Hintz

GO MEALS
Very nice app, some of the serving sizes could be expanded. I.E., black-eyed peas shows as, how many servings. Could show cups, oz, or something more understandable. However, nice start.

Ok but needs some changes
When you go to a restaurant and order something like a burger but don't eat the bun, there is no way to subtract the bread. Also, always have to create a misc custom food that changes with restaurants.

Granny
I just started to use the app and I am finding it extremely helpful and motivating. My main motive is to get a handle on my diabetes.

Very Useful
I found it a little tricky starting it,but the more I played around,it's really easy . I love the fact that I can sync my iPhone and iPad. It would be nice if some how I could print my BS readings to show the doc.

Don't waste your time
This is one of the least intuitive apps that I ever tried to use. There is no guidance, nothing is in the least bit obvious and I will not waste my time trying to make it work. WORTHLESS!!

Suggestions
I would like to enter homemade items without having to enter customized ingredients so that the nutritional value/chart would automatically populate with appropriate information per serving. Would also like to allow for smaller serving size i.e. 1/2, 1/4, teaspoon, tablespoon, etc. and '0.0' or '.00' serving size (needed for fat content when entering customized foods). Would love to see option to scan barcode on the item if the item is not available in the database. Is it possible to decrease the size of the font so that the entire amount could be seen when choosing how item was prepared, it seems a slice of cheese has different caloric amounts then diced or cubed cheese but I'm not able to see the entire description.

Love this app!
I am a T1 diabetic on a low carb food plan. GoMeals lets me easily track my blood sugars and meals. It has many extra features (grocery items for soups, etc.) that other, more complicated, apps lack. It's easy to use, quick and accurate. The secret is to log everything you eat each meal and snack!

Eye opener
I've been using this app for three weeks. The first week I ate as usual to see how I stacked up. My perception of the amount of nutrients I was taking in was below what was actual. The next two weeks I've been adjusting my eating to better fit suggested parameter. Drastic drop in need for insulin. Really helps you understand what your body is saying.

Outdated Menus
Needs To Update The Whole Nutrition Database

So much potential
I'm spending too much time looking for the food times. The fact of being able to track activity, blood sugar is great, but all of that disappears when I have to spend an hour looking for items that should be there... Other apps have them... Why can't yours?... Figure it out, then send me an email.

Lousy
3of3 items gave wrong nutritional stats! Very important issue for me...so... Of no use to me

IT'S OK
Outdated and Bring Back CalorieKing Create-A-Meal and Make Nutritionix Create-A-Meal

Confusing
Maybe just me but what constitutes a serving? Also on search, top choice is various restaurants, some not in my area, with results often looking nothing like the item I am trying to find. Weight Watchers, who I no longer use, has a good search feature, give them a call.

Drops
Use to be a great app, after the last update, you get kicked out after every entry! So frustrating I hardly ever use it anymore!

Was great...
Now crashes all the time. Please fix and then will rate 5 stars

Pretty good app
Overall I like it but it would be better if it showed the food groups on a chart as well; like a pie chart of how much you have eaten from grains, sugars, fruits etc.

Allergens added to restaurant guides
This app looks fabulous, one of the most comprehensive I have seen, and I'd really like to use it to manage my celiac disease but it's missing a very important section in the restaurant guides. The allergy menus. It would meet a lot more users needs if there was a way to see restaurants that offered gluten free menus or a web link to the restaurants allergen menu online. As well as an upgrade for allergen/organic brands to the grocery guide.

The best!
This is offers a lot of wonder features, the visual is very good, the app is very user friendly and it makes keeping track of your intakes very easy and effortless, great job makers! And best of all it's freeeeeee!

Great app!
This is a really easy to use app for finding out the nutritional value (or lack thereof) of meals, etc. at most restaurants. Also great for tracking what you're really consuming in a day/week/month...yikes! What you don't know CAN hurt you!

Decent app
The organization and features of the app are great, but the restaurant menus are very incomplete.

Great App but....
I would really like to be able to save multiple profiles within the app so I can keep track of my and the hubby's food intake.

Wonderful tool.
This app is totally terrific. I am finding that I am watching what I eat more carefully and I am seeing positive results. This is a must-have for diabetics who need a correct carb count to determine how much insulin they need.

Simple
Simple to use. Keeps me mindful of the day.

Great!!
If you want help counting a days calories This is the app.

Great for tracking food intake and saving favorite meals
.

Meh it's not bad
It would be a ton better if I could just scan the bar codes on what I am eating rather than spending hours going through a bunch of menus. Other than that it's ok.

So far so good
I've been using this app for going on two weeks now and it has been very helpful! I can't set my limit and know when I get close to it. They have A LOT of restaurants that I eat at so I don't have to spend all day searching for one thing. It's been good so far Incan only hope that they include even more restaurants.

OUNCES!
It's good graphically, but too many duplicate foods in the database, no 'each' or 'ounces' measurements and if you use grams... the numbers only go to 7? Umm 4oz is like 120g guys. I like it but I'm going to keep using LoseIt!

GoMeals
Love the app. Only thing is I would like more milk options (0.5% also), and a better scroll function. I can not get the bottom of the day's meal to stay on the screen. It keeps rolling up to the top so I can not see the bottom without holding the screen. When I let go I loose the bottom items.

Database seems limited
This app has great potential and good design, but the database seems unusually limited, or I don't know how to search!

Great food tracker
I need to track my food as part of my diabetes control. I love that I can add nutritional information for foods that aren't in the database. There are other apps that track food as well as weight and blood glucose levels, which I need to keep track of, but they don't have good meal trackers. Wish I could track all three in this app!

Important calculations
This app is great but can easily cause dangerous overdose. If someone really used this app alone to calculate their meals it could be bad. I received the recommendation for this app from a diabetes education program. But the dietary fiber is supposed to be subtracted from the meal. Fiber doesn't process the same. If someone sere to take insulin for a high fiber snack they could drop their sugars and have some major complications. A little more research and development and this app could be great

Very helpful
I really like this app and for the most part it does what is needed. I also find it helpful that it does list so many local restaurants (incl those in smaller towns). I do wish however that it would be possible to track for more than 1 person at a time. I'd have no issues paying for an upgraded version for that. Or alternatively allow you to export the data. Finally, while it is possible to add home cooked meals, it is time consuming. Sometimes it's easier to a similar dish from a restaurant but that's not really accurate for those who may cook with less salt, substitute items etc. It would be nice if you could edit popular meal items to adjust rather than having to "build" a dish from scratch entering all the individual components. Nevertheless it is really helping me reduce my calorie intake and consider substitute items to achieve that.

Fantastic app
I love this app, but i wish i disnt have to click "ok" after adding a food. Also, it would be nice to have a triangle of fullness vs. nutrition like Nutrition Datas site. It would also be great if i could print the data and the log to bring it to the doctor/nutritionist. The search functionality can be a pain, but still a great app. Thanks!

Crashes
I don't know if it is ios6 that is the culprit, but I just started using this and it crashes often.

Excellent Diet Tracking App
I appreciate most the detailed percentages of carbs, protein, fat, calories, and goal calories broken down for the day, week, and month. Excellent app! Five stars all the way, I really love that if your brand isn't listed, they offer a generic. Very well thought out!

Go meals HD
I love using this program, however, your database appears lacking in many areas, mostly when going to the 3rd or 4th levels for locating the nutrition facts.

Not all that good
I have tried a lot of these apps and this is the best so far -- but that's not saying much. i weigh and measure every meal, in ounces rather than grams. This app won't let me calculate the calories in 4 ounces of apple -- nor even 113 grams, the equivalent. I don't eat much processed food, so the generic and grocery entries don't help me. I want an app that lets me plan tomorrow's meals the night before. This one won't allow that. And once I have entered a food, I cannot edit its carb, fat, protein content: I have to delete it and start again. Plus, the app crashes every time I try to save a day's meal --- which I want to do so I can repeat the day in a subsequent week. Keep going, developers -- this needs more work.

Great app
Needs an update tho.. Hurry!

Why must I have a twitter account to get help? Glitch!
I can't get help because I don't have a twitter account and don't want one. Why can't I have a place to get help, support or answers to problems? Your program has a glitch, if you don't put in a meal on your today's plate before you edit a prior meal it won't let you go back to today's plate. It won't let you edit a meal with zero calories. I guess the only way to do this is to re-download the program and start over again. Lose everything I've entered (homemade meals, favorites, etc.). EVEN THE NEW VERSION DOESN'T ALLOW YOU TO GO BACK TO EDIT A DAY IF THERE WAS NOTHING ENTERED. I WAS SICK AND COULD NOT ENTER ANYTHING AND NOW ALL MY KEEPING TRACK IS USABLE. WHY CAN'T YOU GO BACK TO THOSE NO CALORIES ENTERED DAYS??? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FOOD SEARCH???

Bug!!!!
Whenever I try to set my profile, the app crashes!! Please fix!

SUPERB!
This app has helped me to lose 16 pounds since the end of October. My doctor has cut my dosage of Metformin and Glipizide by exactly half. I am more aware of my activity and intake thanks to this app. It makes tracking my blood sugar readings a snap! The ability to look at your calorie intake and see the impact it is having on blood sugars is most helpful. There are a few little things that could be improved, but with updates I'm confident these will be fixed. A GREAT app! Highly recommended!

Not good
Unable to find restaurants, keeps crashing, cannot update profile without it crashing. Are you going to do ANYTHING?

It's good, but could be better
The app claims to be for diabetes but yet doesn't focus on carb counting. The main page and the reports show calories with percent as carbs, protein and fat. Also shows the grams of sodium, fiber, total fat and saturated fat, but no carb count. It would be great if the app let me set the main metric (calories, carbs, fat, protein, etc) that I want to track and let me set targets by day or meal. That would be the most helpful as I try to count carbs. Also, the menus for finding food are really deep and have a tendency to crash. Overall it is useful, but room for improvement

Great app
The ability to sync my data to the cloud and view it on my phone and iPad is great!

Too Bad . . .
Had high hopes for this app, but no such luck. Every time I tried to modify my daily caloric max by doctor's orders . . . it crashed. Difficult to enter info/readings into and then it would shut down immediately anyway. Restart, re-enter, crash! Repeat! Repeat! Maybe it will improve with time, but for now . . . Delete!

Like this one
I like that I can read the full name of what I ate, also that its show the total of carb. and cal. of each meal. But I eat 5 or 6 times a day, there are 4 meal options in this app.

Awful App
I normally do not write reviews, but I really want to warn people. This app does not work and has never worked correctly. The app crashes 50% of the time and has a great deal of trouble when information is input. It either crashes and deletes what you've just entered or it simply deletes what you've entered. It is a good thing that the app is free otherwise the creators would really be stealing people's money.

Great for tracking what you eat
Love this app. It's so easy to track your food, search for grocery items, find name brand foods and restaurants or add your own custom foods. Save what you eat most as favorites.... It's so easy!!

Luv this app.
I am a newly diabetic ...am able to look up what I can eat before going to a restaurant . Use it every day.

Great App
Really helps me keep track of calories in/calories out!!

Nice and easy to use
It was easy to get started using this app. Very intuitive. I wish you could set carbs as the main goal, the info for carbs and protein is there, you just need to calculate how many that you have left in a day. I wish they had every food that I eat, but it is a free app and it is easy to add custom foods. It doesn't seem the favorite food category works correctly. I added 3 item for a favorite food. But when you add it on the next day, the calories for the individual items are wrong. The activity log has some obscure choices. It took awhile for me to find "resistance training" because there are lots of sub categories. Under winter activities..how many people "move an ice house/ drill holes in ice"?

Great app
I am new to Diabetes type 2 and find this app VERY useful. Thanks

Good, not awesome
Love this app, however have found it limited for use as a type 1 diabetic. There is no way to review the fiber content of a meal except by going to each individual food item and adding it up in your head. Do the creators of this program know that the amount of fiber grams is subtracted from the overall carb grams to get the accurate total grams of carb ingested for insulin medication purposes? If there's ever the availability for an update that would include total # of fiber per meal... and the ability to review a past date via a calendar instead of just back paging over and over... I would then rate this a full 5 stars!

Good Basic App
This app is an excellent value for the price (free!). The food database is fairly extensive, entering meals and exercise is pretty easy, and the estimations seem solid. I am not a diabetic, but have found it very helpful in keeping track of food intake and exercise.

Easygoing
Great to use and easy to learn.

Latest update troubles
Have been using this app for several months with much success, rated it five stars before, but the latest update is causing delay problems in looking at and adding foods to your daily food totals. It also shuts down for no reason and when you go back into the app it will not let you choose anything without long delays or shuts down again. This is the only app on my IPad that does this. This has gotten extremely Frustrating since this never happened before. I am still giving it five stars, but this needs to get fixed now, otherwise I am dumping it and finding something else to support my diabetes diet.

Last update is a problem
Agree with comment above. Also, the app no longer syncs reliably between Apple products, which was a major reason I chose this app to manage my diabetes. Would be helpful if there were graphs for sugar levels and carb control like the ones for total diet. Also needs averages for sugar levels (7, 14, 21, 28 days). It would also be helpful if the food database included generic ethnic foods as I rarely eat at chain restaurants. Despite all the problems, it is still pretty handy.

Wish it could copy the day before
Then it would be perfect! Hate having to search for everything again.

Wrong
I checked this out for a friend with diabetes. The app multiplied by about 6x the number of carbs in plain nonfat yogurt. Would have led to dangerous conclusions.

FRUSTRATED!!!
The program kicks me out after I enter a food item! Each time I have to get back in to finish entering my meal for the say! PLEASE FIX THIS BUG!!!

Go Meals
Great app, but would like to see a recipe analyzer.

Gomeals
I like the expanded database, but the previous version other field did not transfer. So history graph looks pretty funny. I have noticed some freeze ups, and complete kick outs....when trying to add foods to daily total. I would back up to previous version, if I could, until these problems are fixed.

Frustrating!
This app was great, now it shuts down between food additions, and also does not sync with my other Apple products.

An annoyance
1 star demerit for telling me my email address with a period in it (which is perfectly valid) is an invalid email address!
