This free app allows you to check that a health and care professional you are using or plan to use is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). If you are unhappy with the care you receive, or worried about the behaviour or health of a registered professional, you can raise your concerns with us.
Perhaps your child needs to see a speech and language therapist, maybe you are receiving radiotherapy, or you have made an appointment with a physiotherapist, podiatrist or psychologist. Whenever or wherever you see one of these professionals, you need reassurance about the person treating you. You need to know that they meet professional standards. You also need to know that someone will take action if things go wrong. That is why the Health and Care Professions Council was created.

This application is ideal for members of the public, health and social care professionals and students, doctors, nurses, and employers who wish to check that a professional is registered.
What is the Health and Care Professions Council?
We regulate health and care professionals in the UK and were set up to protect the public. We only register professionals who meet our standards for their training, professional skills and behaviour. We can take action against professionals who fall below these standards. We can also prosecute those who pretend to be registered.
Health and care professionals must be registered so you can be sure:
• they are genuine;
• they meet national standards; and
• you are protected.
